HEROES AT HOME PLATE

The City of Hobart, in collaboration with Hobart High School Athletics, will host Heroes at Homeplate on Tuesday, May 13, 2025—a varsity baseball game recognizing and honoring local first responders.

The game will be held at Hobart High School Baseball Field, 2211 East 10th Street. The Hobart Brickies will take on the Highland Trojans, with the first pitch set for 5:00 PM.

The evening begins at 4:30 PM with Hobart High School’s Junior ROTC presenting the colors, followed by a performance of the National Anthem. A ceremonial first pitch will be delivered at 4:45 PM by Police Chief Garrett Ciszewski and Fire Chief Enrique Lopez, representing the unity of the city’s public safety teams.

Attendees will have a chance to engage with local first responders and explore emergency vehicles positioned near the main entrance and ticket booth. The area will also include informational displays and opportunities for families to connect with Hobart’s public safety professionals.

All first responders attending in uniform or department apparel—whether on or off duty—will receive free admission, along with their immediate families.
