A labor day weekend gathering in Hiram Maine (45 min west of Portland) featuring camping, bluegrass and old time music, a farmer and artisan market, homesteading & community skillshares and demonstrations, kids activities, food trucks, craft beer, and much more! Stay tuned for the release of our lineup!
Q&A for Ossipee Valley and Thomas Point Beach Festival Fans:
This event is hosted in the same place as the Ossipee Valley Music Festival and can be thought of as a "distant cousin" rather than a "sister", because it is a very different event, featuring all bluegrass and old time music, plus the element of farmer and homesteader skill sharing, demonstrations and workshops, a smaller crowd size, and takes place primarily on the Crooked River Woodlands (next to the Ossipee fairgrounds), with camping and RV hookup camping on the Ossipee fairgrounds. Furthermore, this event is a "gathering" rather than a festival, focusing primarily on regional performers in a low key and community forward way.
It is hosted the same weekend as The Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival was previously held, Labor Day Weekend. While TPB has ended, it is irreplaceable. Our hope with Crooked River is that we create a home for anyone looking for a bluegrass community on Labor Day Weekend, but offer something entirely new, with other features such as the agricultural/homesteading element that make this event unique.
The event is located in Hiram Maine, 2.5 hrs NW of Boston, and will offer both tent and RV camping for the full week. Visit our website for details.
