Explore the fauna and flora of the Dorothy Rice Sanctuary

Learn about the plants, trees, wild edibles, tracks and signs of wildlife with Naturalist Aimee Gelinas, Director of the Tamarack Hollow Nature and Cultural Center. Program is free (donations accepted). This project is co-sponsored by the New England Forestry Foundation and has been supported in part by a grant from the Hinsdale/Peru Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.”

Length of walk: IN TIME: 3 Hours IN DISTANCE: 2-3 Miles

From the center of Peru, go south on South Road and meet at the corner of South Road and Rice Road in Peru MA (South Road takes a wide turn at this spot). Rice Road is a grassy lane that leads into the sanctuary – we will park and meet at the corner of these two roads and enter the sanctuary as a group.
