Braddock Bay Bird Observatory
10 Braddocks Avenue, Hilton, United States
Join us for an evening of education and entertainment . . . and hopefully owls! We'll start by learning about the kinds of owls commonly found in upstate New York and we'll practice our very best owl calls. Then we'll open our nets in hopes of catching a Northern Saw-whet Owl. Every year, banding stations across North America capture and release hundreds of Northern Saw-whet Owls, and Braddock Bay Bird Observatory bands several dozen each fall.
This event is aimed at children from 6-16, but all are welcome. Admission is free, but space is limited and RSVPs are required.
The program will take place rain or shine, but note that we cannot open our nets in rainy or windy weather. Note also that there is no guarantee we will catch an owl.
Attendees should wear warm clothing and boots suitable for walking outdoors, and should bring a flashlight or headlamp.
Tickets for Owl-o-ween !!! can be booked here.
