Character Gender/Age Range Description
Alan Baker (M- Early 30’s) Alan is a good-looking single playboy. He is a cocky, confident, suave and self-assured confirmed bachelor. He is very much a “ladies’ man”. He has a “Rat Pack” and “Mad Men” vibe.
Buddy Baker (M- Early 20’s) Buddy is Alan’s 21-year-old reserved, shy, nervous brother. He is obedient, unsure, and naïve...until he’s not. He looks up to Alan. Must have comedic timing.
Harry Baker (M- 50’s) Alan and Buddy’s father. He is hard-working and expects the same work ethic from his sons. He is stuck in his ways and isn’t afraid to voice his opinion, sometimes in a loud way. Think Frank Costanza on “Seinfeld” meets Fred Flintstone.
Sophie Baker (F- 50’s) Mrs. Baker is a smothering mother who is superstitious and clings to “old world” traditions. She is an expert in the art of emotional manipulation. She is prone to hysterics. Think Mae Peterson from “Bye Bye Birdie” with a bit of Marie Barone from “Everyone Loves Raymond
Connie Dayton (F- 20’s-30’s) Alan’s love interest and ready for marriage. Sarcastic at times but down to Earth and knows how to get to Alan. She is witty, poised, and worldly. Think “Joan Holloway” from Mad Men.
Peggy (F- 20’s) Peggy is a ditzy socialite who wants to be an actress and is eager to please. She is naïve, sweet, and bubbly. Think “Chrissy Snow” from Three’s Company.
Gussie Baker (F- 50’s) Mr. Baker’s sister. She has one line at the very end of the show. She’s a tough cookie.
