On Saturday, September 6th, from 13:00 - 18:00, the Düsseldorf Senators, Life in Düsseldorf, and VierNull are hosting the very first Different Roots. One Field. International Festival - a celebration of sports, culture, and community with an expected attendance of between 500 - 1,500 visitors.
Whether you’ve lived in Düsseldorf your whole life or just arrived, whether you’re an athlete, a music lover, a curious neighbour, or a busy parent, everyone is welcome.

The program is packed with fun:
🎶 Live Music & Dance - enjoy international tunes from Mariano Gardella, youth band 23rd Staircase, and DJ Andreas – plus a vibrant performance by Herencia Latina Dance, bringing rhythm and energy from Latin America to the festival stage.
🍴 Food & Drink - an “Around the World” snack buffet and international food trucks. All proceeds benefit KRASS e.V., a local non-profit cultural education initiative.
🎁 Raffle Prizes & Giveaways - win experiences from sports workshops to beauty treatments, yoga classes, and more.
⚾ Open TSG Sports Sessions - try out softball, baseball, tennis, badminton, and more with local coaches. No pressure, no tryouts - just the joy of trying something new.
🎨 Arts & Crafts - from mural painting with CASA Malschule to creative stations by KRASS e.V. and a special coloring book premiere by Hello Tuti Fruiti & Life in Germany.
🎉 Family Fun Zone - obstacle courses, sack races, Zumbini, yoga, music classes, and activities hosted by favorite local family spaces like Famville, BabyBee Spielraum, Happy Kids, Dayo, Kiddy Trip, and many more.
What makes it special?
Sport connects us all - no matter where we come from, what language we speak, or which game we play. It’s a universal language that crosses borders. With this festival, we want to bring internationals and locals together on one field to celebrate our diversity and show that, in the end, we are one.
All proceeds from the snack buffet and raffle will go to KRASS e.V., which provides free art, music, theatre, dance, and media workshops to underprivileged children and youth in Düsseldorf.
