☀️ SOL – SLAC OPEN CALL FOR ART ☀️
Do you remember lying in the grass and soaking in the sun’s warmth on your face?
The way it blazes across a golden hour photo, or casts everything in a glow too bright to look at directly?
What is the sun to you? A symbol? A science? A savior? A scorcher? 🔥🌻🕶️
Is it the golden glow of morning coffee, the searing brilliance of summer afternoons, or the fading embers of a sunset?
Maybe it’s mythic—Ra, Apollo, Helios...Sol anyone?
Maybe it’s scientific—solar flares, sunspots, eclipses, and celestial fire.
Or maybe it’s emotional—warm joy, oppressive brightness, the longing for shade. 🏖️
SOL is the theme of our next SLAC show at the Sip Coffee House in Highland, Indiana, and we want to see your interpretation—literal, emotional, abstract, surreal, radiant, or raw.
Many of you remember back in early 2023, we howled at the MOON—at the Crown Point Sip! 🌛
Now it’s time to honor her radiant counterpart.
Anywhere from bold beams of silver light to the mysterious myths and old, warm memories the sun stirs up, this show is open to your most sun-drenched, light-infused ideas.
Let’s celebrate the sun! 🌞 Let your work shine. ✨ Happy Summer, Everyone! 💛
All mediums are welcomed as long as it can be SAFELY mounted to the wall with proper wiring!
