Lost in America

We're taking a break from our dark surrealist David Lynchian summer by joining a yuppy couple (Albert Brooks & Julie Hagerty) from LA as they cast off their cares, worries, and responsibilities (largely due to Brooks insulting his boss and getting fired, then convincing Hagerty to join him) in the middle of the 80s and hit the road in a Winnebago. This universal fantasy of carefree roaming falls apart when the nest egg is lost in Vegas and the two run out of money without having made it past the Rockies. Contending with the realities of a mid-1980s small-town economy is a lot for the power couple to handle, but they do their best to start climbing the ladder again. A gem of a capsule of a portrait of 1980s America, and an Outdoor Movie Theater favorite! Join us, friends!
