The Sinking Of The Lisbon Maru (2025uk)

We will be having an extra Film Night in August! We have managed to secure a special screening of The Sinking Of The Lisbon Maru on Friday 15th August, which is the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.

This is an important, largely unknown event from World War II. The film gives a detailed account, and includes interviews with the last two survivors, as well as relatives both of those who died and those who survived.

Present will be Chris Hutchison, whose uncle survived the sinking. He will provide an introduction and Q&A. This is a rare opportunity to see this unique film.
