Lughnassad/Lammas/Summer Cross Quarter Ritual
Sunday, August 3
Lakeview Grove, North Park
Site Opens at 1 pm; Briefing at 1:30; Ritual beings at 2 pm
Sassafras Grove invites you to join us as we celebrate the feast of the First Harvest.
Earlier this year, we planted our seeds, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and now those seeds we planted with hope in the spring have grown and are bursting with blooms and ripening fruit. But we are not done with the seeds we planted.
We call upon Lords of the Sky and Storm, Thor, Perun and Zeus who bring the storms to wash away what is holding us back; Protectors of humankind who bring rains to nourish our fields and nurture our spirits; Divine champions who display the power and majesty of nature and bring divine blessings from heavens to the earth. We offer our thanks for the blessings that have come to us over the past season, and ask for protection on the harvest we are about to gather.
What to bring if you choose:
•Offerings to the beings of the Occasion-Suggested offerings include incense and fruits of your first harvest (physical, spiritual, or emotional). Silent words of thanks are always appropriate.
•A chair/blanket if you wish to sit during the ritual
A snack to share after the rite (if you are able)
