❤️ From My Heart – A Message to Our Community
As of January 31st, 2026, the Licola Caravan Park and General Store—our home, our business, and the heart of this town—will be closed as you know it.
Earlier this year, I received devastating news: my lease would not be renewed, and the business I poured everything into would not be purchased as a going concern. Just like that, everything we’ve built is being taken away.
This has been one of the hardest times of my life—but I’m still standing, and I’m still fighting for what’s right. Not just for me, but for my kids, for Licola, and for every small town business owner who deserves fairness, respect, and support.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the community. Your kindness, messages, and encouragement have meant more to me than you’ll ever know. You've reminded me that I'm not in this alone.
This isn’t just about a business.
It’s about a home.
It’s about the only store and caravan park in this town.
It’s about doing the right thing when others won’t.
What’s Happening:
The board of Lions Village Licola Inc. has refused to renew my lease, despite previous verbal assurances.
They have declined to purchase the business I built, even knowing the consequences.
No compensation. No transition plan. No accountability.
The human cost of their decision has been completely ignored.
These actions go against the very values Lions Clubs claim to represent:
Lions Code of Ethics Being Breached
To aid others in distress.
To be loyal to our community.
To build up, not destroy.
To never seek success at the price of another’s dignity or livelihood.
To remember that in building my business, it is not necessary to tear down another’s.
So I’m asking you—please stand with us.
This isn’t just my fight. It’s about standing up for fairness, for family, and for the soul of this town.
Join us. Raise your voice. Help protect what matters.
With love and gratitude,
Leanne 💛
