Our Shooting Star Suppers are specially timed to coincide with the peak dates of the year's major meteor showers. Join us for a truly magical evening combining award-winning, locally sourced food with one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles.
�The evening begins in the Battlesteads Restaurant with a warming bowl of homemade soup and one of our freshly made sandwiches. (Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.)
�After supper, our expert astronomy team will guide you up to the observatory to begin your cosmic adventure. You’ll:
• Handle real, museum-quality meteorites
• Learn how to use binoculars properly for stargazing
• Use our large aperture 14-inch telescope, Dobsonians, and binoculars to explore deep space ((Weather permitting)
• Discover the science behind shooting stars, meteors, comets, and asteroids
• Find out how to collect micrometeorites in your own back garden
�To top it all off, we’ll settle into deckchairs under the stars to watch the celestial firework show unfold. If you're interested in capturing the moment, our team will also share top tips on photographing shooting stars using a DSLR camera.
