Beginner Sewing with Sonny and Scout - Wallsend Library

Come along to learn the fundamentals (and the fun) of sewing! In this Beginner level workshop series, over four Monday mornings, you will learn:

• How to thread, use and care for a sewing machine and understand more about fabric
• Straight, zig zag and topstitching stitches
• Cutting out, sewing seams, and stitching hems
• How to sew curves
• Deciphering sewing patterns including fabric requirements and pattern layout
• Filling bobbins, changing needles and basic machine maintenance

Most fabrics and tools supplied. Sewing machines will also be available for everyone to use, however if you have your own and would like to learn on that then please bring it along!

Ages: 16+

Cost: $150 for a 4-week program.
