Join us on a stroll up Windmill Lane to Greenford Broadway and let's see what we will find. What will be the unexpected this time?
Join our second free walk this year and the second in Greenford, to explore another part of the town, in collaboration with GOSaD. GOSaD - Golden Opportunity Skills and Development is an Ealing-based charity focused on building a vibrant and equal society.
We will start in Windmill Lane - not far from the cemetery though the precise starting point is not yet decided. Then wending our way northwards we will see what is in Windmill Lane though the windmill itself has long gone. Nearing the Broadway we have a school and a church to talk about and we will probably have a look in the church and at a nearby mosque. Then we have the shopping area with all its history - the shops and cinemas that have gone, the variety of shops that are here now. They still have their banks and a main post office unlike some local areas...
Which cafe we finish at for our optional chill and chat after the walk is again yet to be decided.
Come and join us. We usually have a mix of those who know the area well and can share their knowledge and those who may have passed through before without lingering but are interested now.
