Maha Ashtami – The Sacred Heart of Durga Puja

BCAS Denmark warmly invites you to celebrate Maha Ashtami, the most auspicious and spiritually powerful day of Durga Puja. The day begins with heartfelt Pushpanjali, where devotees offer flowers and prayers to Maa Durga, seeking her blessings for strength and protection.

A highlight of the day is the revered Sandhi Puja, performed at the sacred juncture of Ashtami and Navami. This powerful ritual honors the fierce form of Maa Durga as Chamunda, commemorating the divine moment when she defeated the demons Chanda and Munda. With 108 lotus flowers, 108 lamps, sacred chants, and offerings, the puja creates an atmosphere charged with devotion and divine energy. The celebrations continue with devotional songs, cultural performances, and the serving of traditional bhog, shared with our community in the spirit of togetherness.
