Waverly Live with The Dudes Play DuRose: A Tribute to Steve

We’re thrilled to kick off another season of music, community, and summer evenings on the porch. This year’s series holds special meaning for us as we dedicate it to our dear friend and beloved musician, Steve DuRose. Steve’s life was a song—full of heart, rhythm, and soul—and he gave so much of himself to the music and to all of us who had the joy of knowing him. As a member of The Gathering Dark, Steve played every single season of Waverly Live to date and also accompanied regular David Childers on many an occasion.

This season, we celebrate Steve’s legacy not with silence, but with sound—guitars strumming, voices rising, and the joy of neighbors coming together, just the way he would have wanted.

We will start our season off on Thursday, May 22nd with Steve's music partner in crime, J. Dunks (Josh Dunkin), co-founder of The Gathering Dark and the rest of "The Dudes" along with special guest Izzi Hughes, Steve's co-host for WTZQ's local artist showcase, as they celebrate Steve's life in music.

All proceeds will go towards the Steven A. DuRose Foundation to protect, preserve and promote Steve's legacy.

The performance is free. We will have our house smoked Waverly BBQ and cold beverages for sale and will also be accepting donations for Steve's foundation.
