Intro To Blacksmithing

River Arts is pleased to announce our artistic blacksmithing class. This is a beginner’s course intended for people with little to no prior experience working metal. Students will learn the 5000-year-old craft of hot forging iron with some modern artistic twists. Our class is held at the Broken Hammer Forge blacksmithing studio in Northern Caroline County. Our instructor, David Collier, has been forging iron for 25 years and has been teaching for 15. He will be assisted by metal artist Breon Gilleran from Fairlee Forge. Students will learn the fundamentals of this ancient craft and make several small projects which they will take home with them. All tools and materials included.
