About the Songwriters:
Randy Franklin is a Charlotte-based singer-songwriter with four decades in the regional music scene. After twenty years fronting the North Carolina band Crisis, Franklin went solo in 2012 and later formed Randy Franklin & The Sardines, an Americana style band that blends catchy, Tom Petty-esque hooks with rich harmonies inspired by bands like The Beatles and Crosby, Stills & Nash. They won “Best Americana Band” at the 2020 Queen City Music Awards and took first in a 2023 radio contest with their song “I Like It When You’re Here,” recorded for their upcoming self-titled album. They currently have 7 singles available on all major streaming sites.
Allan Kaplon: Allan’s songs have received acclaim from critics and listeners alike. Carl Carefelli, music critic for Goldmine magazine, calls his rock song “Alibi” his “current hit”. Recording sometimes under his own name and other times as the “Non Prophets”, his last album “Notes on a Napkin” was recorded by the Spongetones’ Jamie Hoover, with contributions by Steve Stoeckel. Allan’s songs are rhythmic, melodic, and memorable, and he delivers them with a well-established groove that will have you rocking in your seat.
PJ Brunson: Rock Hill singer-songwriter with folk roots and an easy listening vibe. Her songs often center around the themes of life, love, and family. She performs full-time around the Carolinas and beyond. She also performs as half of the piano-violin duo “Ananda” with Laurie Neal. The two perform original instrumentals they describe as Celtic-Classical-New Age fusion. PJ hosts the monthly songwriter showcase at Illumination Wines. For more on PJ, visit
