Steam Coach Open/Mic Jam

The THB are hosting our open mic/jam night at The Steam Coach, this Sunday July 27th 8:00p.m.- later. All budding singers, players, solo acts, bands, poets and comedians who would like to play or participate are welcome. Full backline provided, guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. We all had a great time at our first open mic here, so come down and enjoy the evening. Convenient for Hemel Hempstead rail station. The Steam Coach has a great reputation for good food and a range of real ales including a selection from Hawkstone brewery which is owned by Jermery Clarkson.
On a historical note, The Steam Coach used to host a folk club back in the 1960's in an outbuilding in the garden. It is reputed to have hosted established folk artists alongside promising new acts, such as Donovan, Mick Softly, Bert Jansch, Roy Harper and early inception of Status Quo (The Spectres). Arlo Gutherie made an appearance at the club when he a guest of a local resident in Hemel Hempstead, Arlo was on a 3 week tour from USA also performed at Hemel Hempstead Pavilion in Dec 1966.
