~~~~~~
This is an open air event, all ages welcome!
~~~~~~
Come and celebrate the season with us around the Seed of Life stone circle and the Hopi fire at Parallel Community's home, Treviscoe.
~~~~~~
Midsummer is the time of full strength of the Sun, a joyful celebration of the maximum of light and energy. The day of the Summer Solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year (Northern Hemisphere). From now on the days will shorten and the nights will lengthen until the Winter Solstice in December.
This time of year is transitional as we have hit the height of energy and move into the next half of the solar year. We pause and look back to where we came from in the past six months. It is a time of celebration and of cultivating gratitude for what we have achieved so far.
~~~~~~
For those unable to attend: another way to attune to the energy of the Summer Solstice season, is to watch the sunset on June 20th and/or the sunrise on June 21st.
~~~~~~
PLEASE BRING
- We will be outside, dress for weather and the evening temperatures.
- Finger food/drinks (optional, please take back home what hasn't been used).
- A Summer Solstice themed poem/song/story for sharing around the fire is most welcome!
- We kindly ask a donation of £1 per person towards the costs of running these events, which we invest in materials etc. The excess from donations goes towards the support of local causes.
~~~~~~
Wishing you a blessed Midsummer,
The Parallel Community Team

DIRECTIONS
Coming from the A30, follow the A3074 St Ives road and, at the second roundabout, swing sharp left on the Mill Hill road, past the Watermill pub towards Lelant Downs (this road is signposted to the Tate St Ives). After the Sunny Meadows caravanning site on your left at Lelant Downs, watch out for a left turn signposted Cripplesease and turn off there (AVOID the lane signposted Trencrom). Follow the country lane uphill until you reach the Trencrom National Trust car park on your right at the top of the lane. Park at the NT car park and walk along the country lane for a couple of yards until you reach the driveway signposted Treviscoe on your left. Walk into the driveway and take the first pathway to the right at (at the bird table), then keep right, and the short narrow woodland path will lead you to the Hopi circle's fire where we gather.
