How's your summer going? Feel like your kiddos need to get off their screens and open a book? The struggle is real, as they say - but I can help.
There’s just one week to go until the Catalyst Reading & Writing Workshop begins! I’m looking forward to working with a wonderful group of middle schoolers from 9:00–11:30 AM, July 7–11 at TMI Episcopal.
This five-day experience is designed to stretch students’ thinking, elevate their writing, and engage them in meaningful reading in fresh, unconventional ways. Throughout the week, we’ll explore a wide range of genres, write original pieces, annotate mentor texts, and engage in creative, skill-building activities that boost confidence and critical thinking.
We'll also spend time connecting with nature through poetry and journaling, experimenting with collage and storytelling, and having fun with grammar and spelling (yes really). Each student will receive a book of their own to read and reflect on throughout the week. We're going to combat summer learning loss and boost confidence/enthusiasm together! I don't want to give it all away, but we're even doing activities that involve food, music, art, and nature. :)
If you have questions or are ready to secure a spot, feel free to reach out—I’d love to have your student join us for this creative and memorable week.
