Infusions (CRIs) and drug indications commonly associated with this use. By exploring clinical cases and real-world scenarios, attendees will learn to calculate and administer CRIs effectively, tailoring dosages to specific patient needs with additional pearls of wisdom. The session will emphasize drug choices, dosage adjustments, and nursing management decisions to optimize patient care and other efficiencies. lecture aims to enhance competence and confidence in managing critical cases and delivering precise, targeted care.
SPEAKER: Rebecca Giacomini, RVT, VTS (ECC)
Rebecca is a passionate and skilled clinician, speaker, educator, and thought leader in the veterinary industry with over 20 years of clinical experience in small animal specialty medicine. Her professional clinical interests include managing high acuity case demographics across specialties with a focused passion on lung disease and mechanical ventilation, nursing management of the septic and coagulopathic patient, anesthesia for the emergent and septic patient, chronic pain management and advanced multimodal anesthesia and analgesia, trauma stabilization, CPR, and acute kidney injury recognition and prevention strategies. Her leadership interests include professional leadership development, communication strategies and self-awareness, team training and development, as well as creating visible career pathways for all staff. She has years of dedicated interests in animal behavior and welfare, palliative and hospice care, mental health awareness, client education, implementing spectrum of care awareness into the profession, and advocating for an interdisciplinary professional approach.
