The PTPA is very excited to host the Greater Hazleton Philharmonic Big Band Sound for a FREE concert Thursday, October 16!
The PTPA has been performing at the J.J. Ferrara Performing Arts Center, named for Greater Hazleton Philharmonic and Ferrword Music Camp founder Father Joseph J. Ferrara, since 2008, and are the proud owners fo the building since 2010.
Now we are very pleased to be able to work with the Philharmonic and the family of Father Ferrara to present this free event - where we will also be celebrating the return of a beautiful hand-painted portrait of Father Joe to our lobby wall.
No reservations needed and admission is free for all ages!
The Hazleton Philharmonic Big Band Sound is an authentic 14-piece swing era ensemble under the direction of Maestro Robert Lagana and they will be playing a collection of standards and classics including “String of Pearls,” “Moonlight Serenade," “Love Us Blue,” “Evil Ways” and other well known numbers.
The Lobby Bar will be open for beverages (soft drinks and alcohol included!) and light refreshment purchases (cash or card) from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, at which time the one hour concert will begin. Donations are welcome and all proceeds from donations and food purchases go to support the PTPA, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and its mission to continue to bring quality entertainment and enrichment to the greater Hazleton area through theatrical performances and theatre education.
This event is sponsored by the Luzerne Foundation.
