As always Paul’s classes look to ground in your foundation and then develop you through some artistic appreciation as we explore some of the more contemporary elements of West Coast Swing.
If you’re new to WCS and have never come to class before, firstly, we can’t wait to meet you and secondly we also offer a repeat fundamental which will take you through your basics in the small room. The more experienced dancers will have all the food for thought they need to develop their dance and keep them inspired as Paul pushes you in the main room for the second hour.
Details about your teacher.
Paul has been dancing and teaching WCS in UK and around the world for almost 15 years. Competitively his career began in 2008 after successfully attaining world titles in line dancing. In 2010 he won 1st place Open J&J at the US Open Championships in California. Since then he has competed at the highest level in J&Js, Strictly’ s and Classic around the world.
After a break Paul returned in 2016 with renewed enthusiasm and energy for the dance and dance community.
While still actively competing Paul continues to teach all over UK, Europe and the World, his classes are fun, creative, technical and challenging without losing his natural sense of humour.
Paul always strives to remain current with his teaching and techniques while remaining true to the authenticity of the dance, so wherever he teaches students will benefit from the full diversity across all aspects of WCS.
With his wealth of experience and knowledge along with immense passion and creativity he currently coaches and mentors’ students both through workshops and private lessons.

We are passionate about west coast swing and hope to grow the community in the area and support all clubs in the country.
West Coast Swing is a smooth, modern, and versatile partner dance that emphasizes connection, creativity, and musical interpretation. It's danced in a linear slot, allowing for elegant movements and intricate patterns between the leader and follower. Known for its adaptability, West Coast Swing can be danced to a wide variety of music genres, including blues, pop, R&B, funk, and contemporary hits.
You don't need to role balance for classes, but please encourage all roles to attend so we can get an equal spread. You don't need to book in advance but we encourage you to attend regularly to get the rhythm in your body's muscle memory. Flat shoes are advisable.
