Scott Terry is a local Castro Valley farmer who has written often for the San Francisco Chronicle, The Gay & Lesbian Review, and Huffington Post.
Scott escaped at the age of sixteen from his Jehovah's Witness upbringing to ride rodeo bulls as a gay cowboy-- his life since has been varied and thriving.
Scott’s new novel, 'The Gift', is a work of historical fiction and explores the intersection of homophobia, racism, and faith, at a time when the American West was often hostile to the rising awareness of LGBT people.
Scott’s rodeo gear, clothing, and championship buckles are in the permanent collection of the Autry Museum of the American West, and are currently on display in the museum’s Imagined Wests exhibit.
His novel, and memoir, 'Cowboys, Armageddon, and The Truth', are available now at Books on B.
Come be inspired in community; there'll be time for Q&A and light refreshments.
