Learn to sketch nature, and enjoy a peaceful and serene time to connect with your heart and the abundant life around you.
Welcome to our Starry Farm, where everything is grown organically, and animals, plants, and hoomans live harmoniously together. We will start with a little guided tour for you to meet our farm family, including bunnies, geese, chickens, sheep and more, while walking through buzzing pollinator gardens and young orchard. Then the farmer artist Dr. Qinghong Wei will demonstrate how to sketch flowers and animals in pencil and watercolor. From there you will be free to spend time however you want to connect deeper with all the life around you in peacefulness, whether it's doing sketching, journaling, taking photos, or just musing and meditating. We will conclude with a relaxed sharing of our experience.
Please dress suited for outdoors, bring a chair, and bring your own sketch kit such as paper pad, pencils, and watercolor kit if desired. We will also provide some color pencils and crayons.

About Your Host:
Dr. Qinghong Wei is an integrative artist who started Starry Farm together with her husband Zhigang Zhang in 2021. Driven by our shared passion to live in harmony with nature, we use organic practices to restore the land, raise animals and grow plants. We now have a great variety of vegetables, fruits, berries, and pollinator friendly flowers thriving on our small farm. We also have around 50 farm animals including chickens, geese, Muscovy ducks, Katahdin sheep, bunnies (Holland Lops and New Zealand), a farm kitty JoJo and farm guardian dog Moolan, as well as numerous wildlife living together here. Starry farm also functions as a nature art studio. We love to share our harvest, experience, and knowledge with the local community and beyond.
