Great Saw Mill River Cleanup 2025: Broadway/Volunteer Field, Hawthorne

Join us for the 16th Annual Great Saw Mill River Cleanup!

The rain date for this event is May 3rd.

Where to meet: This site is located in Broadway Field and Volunteer Field. Meet at the basketball courts!

Driving Directions: You can get there via the Sprain Brook Parkway or the Saw Mill River Parkway. There is a large parking lot at the park entrance.

Bus Directions: 15 Bus - Closest stop: ELWOOD AV @ HAWTHORNE RR STATION. Just cross the train tracks by walking through the passage over the Hawthorne Train Station.

Train Directions: The Hawthorne train station on the MetroNorth Harlem line is right across the street.

Site Activities: Volunteers will be cleaning up garbage along the Saw Mill River and conducting vine cuttings under supervision.

Site Instructions: Wear sturdy shoes (no flip-flops), wear long pants and long sleeves (to protect from ticks and poison ivy), bring gloves if you have them, bug spray, and bring water. We'll have equipment, trash bags, and limited pairs of gloves.
