Tamsyn Hogarth from Fly By Night Bat Clinic will give a presentation about the importance of Boroondara’s local bats to our environment.
Learn more about our local mega-bat species, the grey-headed flying fox, as well as the micro-bats that call Boroondara home! Tamsyn will describe their life cycle, habitat and the role they play as pollinators. She will discuss the human impact on bats and how to protect them from getting tangled in garden netting by using the correct netting mesh size for your vegetables and fruit trees.
Fly By Night is a licenced DEECA Wildlife Shelter in Melbourne and is run by volunteers dedicated to the rescue & rehabilitation and release of the threatened species,Grey Headed Flying Fox, as well as other native bats & wildlife.
