Introduction to Balboa

Brontë Balboa are hosting this Introduction to Balboa class at the historic Old School Rooms as part of Haworth Festival Balboa Weekend, suitable for absolute beginners to enable you to be able to participate at our 3 social dances with live bands over the weekend

Entry to this drop in session will be £5 (cash) on the door, no need to book in advance or bring a partner (if you have already registered for a Full Weekend or Full Social pass this session is included)

Here are the approximate timings of what to expect:

19:30 arrival/welcome

19:50 introduction/warm up

20:00 session 1 (45 - 50 mins)

Break (10-15 mins)

21:00 session 2 (45 - 50 mins)

Followed by social dancing/practice time with 1-2-1 coaching if required/requested for around half an hour before we pack up ready go home by 22:30

Balboa is a close hold Swing Dance that originated in the overcrowded dance halls of Southern California during the 1920's-1930's, known for its intricate footwork & stylish movement, it was designed to dance effortlessly to faster tempo jazz music with limited space to move
