Fèis Rois Ceilidh Trail
The Fèis Rois Ceilidh Trail is a paid summer job and professional development opportunity for outstanding young traditional musicians aged 16 to 25.
Taking place in July and August, The Ceilidh Trail provides visitors to Scotland, and locals alike, with the opportunity to experience authentic traditional Scottish music in a wide range of settings.
Fèis Rois established its successful Ceilidh Trail programme in Ross-Shire in 2000. This project has since gone from strength to strength and now provides opportunities for young musicians from across Scotland to perform in locations across the country and further afield.
Many previous participants of the Fèis Rois Ceilidh Trail have gone onto carve out very successful careers in the Scottish music industry. These include Mairearad Green, Rachel Newton, Kim Carnie, Iona Fyfe, Calum McIlroy, Ali Levack and Conal McDonagh to name but a few.
The young musicians spend the summer playing music, travelling throughout Scotland and beyond, and gain experience playing for just about every kind of gig under the sun! Enjoy some of the most exciting up-and-coming young musicians from Ross-Shire and across Scotland.
Based in Dingwall, Fèis Rois is widely recognised as a national leader in the traditional arts, particularly in music education. The organisation aims to give young people and lifelong learners the opportunity to experience and engage with traditional music and Gaelic culture in a way that supports them in developing their social skills and inspires them to reach their full potential.
More details and directions to the venue will be sent to those attending - but please book tickets, don't realy on just turning up!
