In partnership with the Louisiana Fire & Emergency Training Academy, this Fire Service Instructor I course is designed to be delivered as a “blended” course, though most of the class will take place in our virtual classroom. Because of this, the attending student must possess a laptop or tablet capable of accessing the internet. A series of online objectives must be met each week. ONE week prior to the start of the course, an access code will be emailed to each registered student. You can use these codes to access the virtual classroom, supplied eBook, and other course materials/assignments for each module on Google Classroom. Though we will be providing an eBook for your class, it is highly recommended that you purchase or otherwise obtain a hard copy of the above textbook. A hard copy of the textbook IS NOT included in the cost of this course.
Students will receive Practical Skills testing as part of the class, and there will also be a certification exam, hosted at the Haughton Fire Dept., at the conclusion of this course.
Needed Materials: Computer or mobile device, secure internet connection, web browser, Google account, recording device w/ video and microphone (phone, webcam, tablet, ect…).
Recommended Materials: Zoom access.
