May the Fourth Be With You

We are weeks away from our 2nd Annual May the Fourth Be With You special event! This year's celebration takes place at Highland Park on Sunday, May 4th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Coordinated by the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department and supported by the Hastings Public Library and the Hastings Museum, this FREE event has it all!

Children of all ages can participate in our Jedi Academy, which includes 'Light Saber Training' with Fencing Instructor Abdel Bruguera, a Jedi Skills Challenge from the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department, a Blaster Station with the 501st Legion Organization and a Droid station with the Hastings Public Library!

The first 100 participants will receive a goodie bag that includes a Stars Wars Comic Book and an assortment of themed giveaways. Additional prizes can be won throughout the event, which culminates in a Cosplay Contest at 2:45pm!

The Hastings Museum will also offer additional Star Wars programming including a special themed scavenger hunt and multiple planetarium shows immersing guests into an intergalactic and educational experience! Both of these are free with membership or paid museum admission.
