🎶 About the Event

Join Greater Hartford-based creative duo DJ Michelle Bee and Hook Gawdess for a powerful one-day DJ and entrepreneurship intensive. This immersive session introduces participants to DJ fundamentals, music culture, tech troubleshooting, and the basics of building your own creative brand.

This program is made possible through the The Teaching Artist Hub and hosted at the Trinity Innovation Center. Thanks to Trinity College, 10 seats will be fully sponsored for Hartford-area students.

Space is limited to 30 participants. Ages 16+.

This daylong workshop includes:

• Welcome Activity: Learn the parts of a DJ controller
• DJ History + Backstories from Michelle Bee & Hook Gawdess
• Beat Matching & BPM Fundamentals
• Troubleshooting Common DJ Issues
• Using FX Like Echo, Looper, BrakeStart & More
• Entrepreneurship 101: LLC vs. Sole Prop, W-9s, Email & Booking
• Logo Sketching + Canva Branding Exercise (in teams)
• Mental Health for Creatives: Guest speaker invited
• Open Decks Hour featuring local DJs + gear demos

All DJ gear will be provided for use onsite.

• Ages 16 and up
• No prior DJ experience necessary
• Ideal for youth interested in music, tech, performance, or entrepreneurship
• Great for new DJs or creatives seeking a supportive entry point into the art of spinning and branding

• General Admission: $35 per person

🚪 Sunday Entry Instructions:
The building’s main garage entrance is closed on Sundays. Please enter through the glass doors on Market Street, located next to the deli.
Once inside, proceed through the lobby to the elevators and head to Level 3.
