SUNDAY LIVE SESSION - ALL THAT MOJO FULL BAND

After their debut at Long Waits with Come Back Strong, we’re ready to welcome back All That Mojo Fullband for their second show on our stage. All That Mojo Fullband brings with them an ever-growing repertoire of original songs - music that speaks of love and loss, memory and hope, inspiration and dreams.
All That Mojo as a duo formed in 2020 with friends Paul Zetter and Dave Payne. Initially playing blues covers and Americana to shake off the COVID times, Tadioto bar ran by Nguyễn Quí Đức (1958-2023), became their spiritual home playing many gigs in the hallowed backroom there. Soon, as Paul started to write more original songs they started to feel the need for another vocalist to do them justice and add harmonies. Enter, Hanoi singing, acting and teaching talent, Hứa Thanh Tú, who always had an interest, passion and feel for the blues. From then on they found their sound doing regular gigs here at Long Waits, as well as HRC and Chula. It wasn't long until their repertoire became mainly originals and they set their sights on making an album - which was to become Lost Goodbyes (2024).
This year they found well known Hanoi based musicians Nico Seal, keyboards, Dutchie, drums and started hitting the rehearsal rooms to build up a varied, all original set. From the very early moments they knew they’d landed on a dream combination of people and instrumentation that served the songs but also showed off their respective talents.
For this second performance at Long Waits, All That Mojo Fullband will breathe new life into some of their well-loved songs, rearranged for the full lineup, while also unveiling newer material that reflects their evolving sound and spirit. These songs carry with them stories of love, memory, and resilience - and above all, the continuing inspiration drawn from the community and friendships that have shaped Long Waits.

All That Mojo được thành lập vào năm 2020 với những người bạn Paul Zetter và Dave Payne. Ban đầu chơi nhạc blues cover và Americana để xua tan thời kỳ COVID, quán bar Tadioto do Nguyễn Quí Đức (1958-2023) điều hành đã trở thành ngôi nhà tinh thần của họ, biểu diễn nhiều buổi hòa nhạc tại phòng sau linh thiêng ở đó. Ngay sau đó, khi Paul bắt đầu viết nhiều bài hát gốc hơn, họ bắt đầu cảm thấy cần một ca sĩ khác để thể hiện công bằng và thêm phần hòa âm. Tài năng ca hát, diễn xuất và giảng dạy đến từ Hà Nội, Hứa Thanh Tú, người luôn có hứng thú, đam mê và cảm nhận về nhạc blues. Từ đó, họ tìm thấy âm thanh của mình khi biểu diễn thường xuyên tại Long Waits, cũng như HRC và Chula. Không lâu sau, tiết mục của họ chủ yếu là các bản gốc và họ đặt mục tiêu thực hiện một album - đó là Lost Goodbyes (2024).
Lần trở lại này, All That Mojo Fullband sẽ tiếp tục là những ca khúc quen thuộc, được phối lại, đồng thời giới thiệu những sáng tác mới phản ánh âm thanh và tinh thần đang không ngừng phát triển của họ. Vẫn là những câu chuyện về tình yêu, ký ức và sự kiên cường – và trên hết, là nguồn cảm hứng bất tận được nuôi dưỡng từ cộng đồng và tình bạn đã góp phần hình thành nên Long Waits.
