If you're interested in making video games Hanoi Game Foundry is a great opportunity for you to test the waters in a friendly, low-pressure environment.
The details are as follow:
Entry: 50k. All proceeds go towards renting the space we need and the prize pool.
Eligibility and participation
Anyone can participate in this game jam. Whether this is your first time working on a game, or if you are a hardened veteran, there is a spot for everyone!
Teams can be solo or group based, but your project will be voted on as a group, not an individual.
All participants must register before the game jam begins!
Theme and timeline
The theme will be announced at the start of the jam (10am 3rd October 2025).
Games must be created from scratch during the jam (except for pre-made assets where permitted).
Ideally, all of the development should be done at the location of the jam in order to keep the collaborative spirit alive.
Duration: 10am 3rd October -> 3pm 4th October.
Tools & Assets
Participants can use any game engine, framework, or programming language.
Pre-made assets (art, audio, code snippets, etc.) are allowed only if you have the rights to use them and they are publicly declared in your submission.
All final submissions must be playable without requiring paid software.
Submissions
All teams must submit a playable build of their game by the deadline.
Submissions should include:
The game executable or playable link.
A short description of the game and how it fits the theme.
Credits for all team members and asset sources.
Late submissions may be accepted at the organizer’s discretion, but may not be eligible for awards.
Judging & Awards
Games will be judged by participants on the following criteria:
Creativity – originality of concept and approach.
Fun – how enjoyable and engaging the game is.
Relevance - how well the game fits the theme.
Aesthetics – how pretty it is.
Prizes
1st Place: A Udemy game (or music or art) development course in whichever engine and style you prefer.
2nd Place: The Fundamentals of Game Design Third edition by Ernest Adams.
3rd Place: A DND-themed drink for each member of your team.
