We are coming together as a community to support a truly remarkable woman, Jeanene Martinez, our beloved Cafeteria Manager at Oakwood Elementary. She is not only a dedicated member of the Oakwood school family, but also a loving mother of four and a proud grandmother of two. Known for her generous heart, contagious smile, and selfless spirit, she is always the first to lend a hand to others—long before thinking of herself.
In her personal life, she cherishes every moment spent with her family. She finds joy in crafting, exploring antique shops, and cooking or baking delicious meals for those she loves. Her warmth, kindness, and positive energy have touched countless lives both in and outside of Oakwood Elementary.
Earlier this year, in May, she received a life-changing diagnosis of cancer. Since then, she has undergone 8 weeks of weekly radiation treatments. At her recent follow-up appointment, she learned that she will need physical therapy to help with swelling in her breast, and may need to have a drainage tube reinserted to relieve pressure and promote healing. While this journey has been physically, emotionally, and financially challenging, she continues to face it with strength and grace.
As she focuses on healing, we want to give back to someone who has given so much to others. This fundraiser will help support her medical expenses and provide her and her family with relief during this difficult time.
Let’s rally around her with love, encouragement, and support—just as she has done for so many of us.
