An Introduction to the Music Business

Are you a musician and are curious about business and legal elements of the music industry? Come to our FREE seminar on July 1 at 7:30 PM at the Passenger Community Center, located at 2697 Caniff in Hamtramck. We will discuss the basics of the following (and more):

• "Record Deals" and issues around self releases of recorded music.
• Music publishing and intellectual property (copyright and trademark)
• Group and collaborative issues, such as business organization, operating agreements and songwriting agreements (everything from singer/songwriter collaborations to the way that "beats" work legally).
• Issues relating to touring/live performance and merchandising

You'll leave this seminar with a clearer understanding of these issues, which are often arcane or confusing to even most working musicians.

This seminar is presented by The Law Office of Christian Fuller. Mr. Fuller is an attorney who has represented clients in the music, book publishing and film industries for more than 25 years. He is also an artist manager.
