NHDOT to discuss proposed safety and mobility improvements to NH Route1A (Ocean Boulevard)
Under NH RSA 230:14 and Public Law 100-17 (Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987), a public hearing has been set to discuss the proposed improvements to the safety and mobility of all users, with a goal of achieving an appropriate balance between the needs of all users along NH Route 1A (Ocean Boulevard), beginning at the entrance of Hampton Beach State Park, north of the bridge over Hampton River and continuing northerly on NH Route 1A approximately 3.3 miles to the intersection of High Street (NH 27) in Hampton.
The hearing will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Winnacunnet High School, located at 1 Alumni Drive, Hampton, NH. The auditorium will be open at 6:00 PM to allow interested individuals to review the plans in advance.
Interested landowners, local officials, and highway users are invited to attend the hearing and will have the opportunity to express their comments relative to the project. Audio of the hearing will be recorded. Maps, plans, environmental studies, and other pertinent information developed for the Department, along with written reports received because of the coordination with other agencies, are available at the Department of Transportation at the John O.
