Sunday afternoon, August 31st, our church family is invited to Ben and Marianne Lawson’s cottage after church (as early as 2pm) until you wish to leave in the evening. We are happy to host this annual event and hope to top last year's crowd of over 80! We will be having a corn boil and barbeque. There will be corn, hotdogs and hamburgers for all. You are welcome to bring any other BBQ treats you wish. We would appreciate others to bring drinks, salads (with serving spoons), and desserts to share with our church family.
The cottage is on a private sandy beach on the lake (with adjacent wharf), so bring swimming gear, lawn/beach chairs, kayaks, fishing rods, outdoor games, etc – whatever you would like to use. Please note there is NO LIFEGUARD and children must be supervised by parents.
We also anticipate a baptism on this date on the beach!
If you are planning on coming please reply in the comments so that we can get an idea of how many people to expect and what you might be bringing for food!
Here are the directions:
From Hatfield Point, take the 710 towards Cambridge Narrows. Turn onto the 705 on left at Henderson Settlement (before Henderson Nursery) until you see water (about 7.8kms). This is Belyeas Cove. Stay left around the lake and it's only a short distance to the Belyeas Cove/Webster's Wharf Road on the right (just before Cattail Lane). Our cottage is at the bottom of the hill on the left (small white cottage).
*Note, there is limited parking at the cottage/wharf. Please do not park on the Belyeas Cove Wharf Road itself, as it blocks access to neighbour cottages. I will be there to direct parking, but some vehicles will need to park on the 705 at the top of the hill and walk down (2 minute walk).
Please note: cell reception is spotty at best.
