SAFETY:
All competitors aged U14, those ranked D or lower and those who have not met the minimum standards for Sprint Racing as published in the PUK Canoe Sprint and Marathon Handbook must wear an approved buoyancy aid (floatation device) at all times on the water.
Organisers may require other competitors to also wear approved buoyancy aids if they feel that the conditions require it, so all competitors should come prepared to comply with this requirement.
All boats used in sprint racing must be fitted with sufficient buoyancy to support the boat and crew in the event of a capsize. Buoyancy both fore and aft should be present and secured to the structure of the boat. Inherent buoyancy in composite boats is not sufficient to meet this requirement. Additional foam buoyancy or air bags must be fitted.
Please see the “Sprint Safety rules” on the SCA website for further details.
The loch may be in use by other water users. Paddlers must take care and be respectful of other users. Detailed advice will be provided in the briefing.
Photographs may be taken at this race, and any others during the season, to be used for promotional purposes. If you do not wish any picture including your image to be used in this way then please advise the race organiser or the Paddle Scotland Sprint Development Group Safeguarding Officer (Marianne Patrick
