Nature at McMaster Bird Bioblitz

The Nature at McMaster Bird Bioblitz will take place on Saturday, September 27 at McMaster Forest Nature Preserve (1105 Lower Lions Club Rd, Hamilton, ON L9H 5E3) from 7:30am to 10:00am. This event is open to the public. Any and all are welcome, so invite your friends!

Come prepared for an exciting day in a beautiful natural area! As you prepare for the event, please make sure to bring the essentials listed below:

• Check the forecast the day of the event and dress for the weather
• Wear long pants, socks, and durable shoes to reduce the risk of poison ivy rashes and tick bites
• Bring plenty of water and snacks, as there is no potable water access on site

There is also no bathroom access on site, so please plan your day accordingly.

Some other supplies you may want to bring include:

• Binoculars
• Camera
• Hand lens
• Field guides
• Notebook and pencil/pen
• A phone with the iNaturalist, Seek, eBird, and/or Merlin apps installed

This event is open to the public and to people of all levels of nature experience. However, the McMaster Forest Nature Preserve trail network is composed of narrow, uneven dirt trails with multiple hills, which could pose an accessibility issue for some people. There are four benches spaced at intervals along the trail network, but no bathrooms or potable water access available on site.
