Lunchtime Recital: Tabla Performance

Join us for an afternoon of rich musical dialogue featuring two of New Zealand’s most accomplished Indian classical musicians

Manjit Singh and Daljeet Kaur are internationally acclaimed musicians renowned for their mastery of Hindustani classical music. Manjit Singh, a seasoned Tabla maestro, has performed and collaborated with many great musicians from New Zealand, India, the U.K., the USA, and Europe. Daljeet Kaur, a celebrated vocalist with over 20 years of teaching and performing, has also performed and collaborated across the globe, enriching her musical journey. Together, they will present a captivating duo performance at Waikato University, featuring a soulful Hindustani classical vocal recital complemented by a dynamic Tabla solo. Their collaboration promises an enriching experience that beautifully showcases the depth and diversity of Indian classical music on the international stage.
