Well-known economist and media commentator Shamubeel Eaqub will speak about why social cohesion matters and how it can be achieved, through the lenses of both business and community, with a focus on the Waikato.
This will be the second event in the Whiria Te Tangata – Weaving Communities Together speaker series, following Nanaia Mahuta at the University of Waikato in July.

Shamubeel Eaqub, the Chief Economist at Simplicity, makes economics easy and fun.
Also an author, media commentator and a thought-leading public speaker, Shamubeel graduated with Honours in Economics from Lincoln University, is a CFA Charterholder and has over two decades of experience as an economist in Wellington, Melbourne and Auckland at leading international banks and consultancies.
He balances a portfolio of economics, consulting, public speaking, governance and family life.
