HFNC Excursion GPT Signal Peak walk

Depart in convoy from Hamilton Visitor Information Centre at 9 am.

Some cars will be parked at the Mt Abrupt carpark (end of walk) with all participants travelling in remaining cars to the peaks trailhead along Cassidy Gap Rd for the start of the 6 km walk.

Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy boots for walking over uneven terrain and up many steps along the way.

BYO walking poles, lunch, water and snacks to have along the way as well as something for afternoon tea at the end of the walk.

Some may find the walk a bit of a test with many sections of steep steps - it is listed as a Grade 4 trail, ie a tough, many stepped, steep track.

However, as Rod and I have tested the first portion of the walk to Signal Peak, we think that some in our party may wish to walk more than we have planned for the day. For people looking for a longer walk, continuing to Mt Abrupt may be an option before returning to the cars at the Mt Abrupt Carpark.
