Heart of the Matter: Organ Donation in Life and Loss
Two powerful voices. One profound conversation.
Join us to explore donor–recipient unity, anonymity, and the personal stories shaping human connection after transplant.
Nick Murphy, PhD – Bioethicist at Western University – challenges current policies on donor anonymity and makes the case for policy change in a digital age. Hear what the Province of BC does and how Ontario is looking to change current policies and legislation.
Maryam De Groef – Grief educator and bereaved mother – shares her journey of love, loss, and organ donation after the passing of her 9-year-old daughter, Zeynah.
Together, they’ll explore how policy change, memory, and community intersect in one of life’s most sacred decisions.
Light refreshments will be served. Lunch options will be available on-site at minimal cost. This is a free event.
