Today we worship together in our annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service. This is an opportunity to donate non-perishable goods to help and support in our local community. All food will be donated to the Hamilton District Foodbank.
Recently Susan talked about how they are currently experiencing low amounts in their current stock, mainly due to cost of living crisis. So, please only donate what you can. There is no expectation or judgement as we understand that times are difficult for everyone.
Proverbs 22:9: "The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor."
Luke 3:11: "John answered, 'Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.'"
These verses remind us that giving food is not just a physical act but also a way to show love and compassion to those in need. By sharing our food, we reflect God's love and demonstrate our commitment to helping others.
Heavenly Father, as we gather to share and donate food, we thank you for the abundance of creation and the kindness of others. We recognise those who are struggling financially and pray for their families. May our efforts bring hope and nourishment to those in need, and may our community strive to support each other in times of need. We ask in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
