Girl Code - Therapeutic Group for Teens

Join us this summer for “Girl Code” at Family Centre! This fun and empowering peer group for girls ages 14-16 will explore self-esteem and relationships to help increase girls’ coping and self-expression skills. Girl Code helps to boost girls’ confidence, self-awareness, and decision-making skills in a safe and supportive environment.

“Girl Code” is designed to address the challenges teen girls face today, helping them to make informed and positive life choices. The primary focus will be on relationships and self-esteem. Our sessions will guide participants in identifying, understanding, and managing intense emotions through healthy self-expression and the development of effective coping skills. Additionally, we will explore decision-making techniques using problem-solving strategies.

Family Centre Counselling Team Leader, Rishèe Paschal shares, “When girls voice their ideas and opinions in a safe environment, it strengthens their confidence and encourages a positive identity. This enhances their self-awareness and strengthens their ability to make good choices.”
