Newcastle multi-instrumentalist and composer Matt Cross is launching his second studio album titled “Some Thing”. The 10 songs of the album were written and recorded over the course of 10 weeks - 1 song a week. The concept of the project was to embrace the imperfections of being a creative, and to not let small blemishes stop you from releasing your art. Something is better than nothing.
To celebrate the launch of the album, Matt will be performing the songs in an intimate setting at 12b Lounge, 50 Clyde St. He will be accompanied by a mini orchestra performing arrangements of his album, plus a couple of surprises.
The orchestra consists of a full string section, drums/percussion, bass guitar, with Matt playing piano and guitar.
This won’t be your average Matt Cross Trio gig. This will be a special night of incredible orchestrations, performed by talented musicians, in a beautiful venue.
