Hello Halifax sketchers!
The Halifax Urban Sketchers will be meeting up again this Sunday to sketch the East Coast Kite Festival 2025 at the Garrison Grounds/Citadel Hill! It looks like good weather but if it changes, we will go the rain location below.
When: July 13, 2025, from 11am - 1pm
Where: Garrison Grounds, Citadel Hill, Halifax (Google "Garrison Grounds” for directions).
Meeting location: Near the small parking lot metal gates on Sackville Street (near Bell Road) entering the Garrison Grounds to pick a point or two of interest. If it is rainy, we will meet up in Uncommon Grounds Coffee Shop, 1030 South Park St., Halifax.
Please note that this is a free event. Just show up near the small parking lot, metal gates on the Garrison Grounds (or Uncommon Grounds, if it is raining) on Sunday and look for the group of friendly people with sketchbooks. Similar to previous outings, you may want to bring a portable chair or stool sketchbook, pens, pencils, erasers, sunblock, etc. Feel free to bring a friend as well!
The Atlantic Kite Festival Society was established in 2017. We expect this will be a great event for urban sketching with the colorful kites and views of the city from Citadel Hill providing plenty of inspiration for our sketches. As usual, everyone is welcome to capture whatever captures them!
