Hello Halifax sketchers!
We have an interesting opportunity to collaborate with an actor from Shakespeare by the Sea in Point Pleasant Park on Saturday, August 9th at 7pm. Matt, an actor, currently playing Robin Hood in Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy is in search of a few sketchers to come to the show and get inspired and create some art!

When: Saturday August 9, 2025, 7 pm
Where: Cambridge Battery, Point Pleasant Park (a 15 minute walk from the upper parking lot (or golf cart ride if arranged in advance).
There is not an official meeting location for this event due to the nature of the sketching but it likely won’t be hard to spot other sketchers. Please use separate sketching paper or be prepared to remove the sketch from your sketchbook if you agree to the exchange of a sketch for a free ticket.
Matt is offering the first 10 individuals to confirm their attendance and provide their contact details, free tickets to the show in exchange for some sketches inspired by the show. Matt intends to gift the sketches to his fellow cast mates at the end of run/season. Matt wants to present them with the sketches as a lovely gift coming directly from folks who enjoyed their amazing work.
If interested, please contact me (Natalie) through DIRECT MESSAGING (as this is a public page) to provide your name, email address and phone number and confirmation that you will attend. I will share these details with Matt by August 6th so he can reserve the necessary tickets. If anyone has accessibility needs, and needs assistance to get from the parking lot to the park/show area, there is an accessibility golf cart that can be booked, if we know in advance.
Once the 10 free tickets are gone, sketchers are still welcome to attend and sketch by buying a ticket or using the “pay what you can” option on the day of the event.
Sketchers can use a lovely seat in the audience or can bring a blanket and set up on the hill! There are lots of options!
